For over 13 years, I have been designing and making children’s costumes (under the Atelier Spatz label), initially in London and, since 2021, in Luxembourg. I have been registered with the Chamber of Crafts here as a freelance designer and seamstress ever since. Over the years, I have also regularly run textile-related workshops for children.
From the very beginning, Atelier Spatz has focused on quality, durability and sustainability, aiming to tell a unique story with every costume and to spark the wearer’s imagination. Over the years, the designs have won several awards and can even be worn as interactive exhibits in a number of museums.
Over time, alongside costume-making, I have increasingly incorporated educational workshops centred on costumes and textiles into my programme, transforming professional design processes into accessible, imaginative activities. These workshops – ranging from wearable art to nature-inspired textile works – reflect a fusion of craftsmanship and creative learning.
