Nothing is more inspiring than hearing first-hand experiences from the world of work!
FEDIL – The Voice of Luxembourg’s Industry, together with its partners, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and the Luxembourg government through the Ministry of National Education, for Children and Youth and the Ministry of the Economy, launched the HELLOFUTURE initiative in 2016, aimed at bringing young people closer to industry and its careers.
This effort to raise awareness of technical and scientific careers and the various sectors within industry takes the form, amongst other things, of the following initiatives:
- We offer presentations to secondary school classes, delivered jointly by FEDIL staff and company representatives. Lasting the duration of a lesson, these presentations are primarily aimed at 4e and 3e classes of the classical secondary education (ESC) and general secondary education (ESG), and illustrate the importance of industry to the Luxembourg economy. A key part of the session is devoted to real-world experiences shared by the representative from an industrial company. Our presenters will be on hand to answer pupils’ questions about the topics covered by the industry, the specific nature of the jobs and training programmes, as well as career opportunities.
- To support the project, the hellofuture.lu website provides useful information on industry in Luxembourg, as well as a ‘Mon stage ’ section listing various types of internships categorised by sector, offered by FEDIL member companies. This tool is promoted at student fairs and other events aimed at young people.
- To facilitate company visits for secondary school classes, the website offers a directory of companies willing to welcome pupils and teachers to showcase their activities and/or facilities. Teachers can thus contact the company they wish to visit with their class directly.
- The website also features numerous testimonials from young people who have found their career path in industry. These are videos produced in collaboration with RTL Lëtzebuerg as part of the programme “Eis Industrie – meng Zukunft”, which is already in its eighth season in autumn 2026.
